Case Study: How We Put Dealership Listings on Autopilot

Every dealership knows the routine: a car hits the lot, and someone spends their morning re-typing the same listing into Facebook Marketplace, Kijiji, AutoTrader. Same photos, same specs, same price — three, four, five times over. One of our clients was losing over an hour per car, per platform, and listings went stale because nobody had time to update prices everywhere.
The problem in numbers
- ~20 minutes to create one marketplace listing by hand
- 10–15 new or updated vehicles per week
- Price changes made on the website but forgotten on Marketplace for days
- Leads scattered across platforms with no single place to answer them
Total: roughly 10–12 staff hours per week of pure copy-paste, plus silent revenue loss from stale prices.
What we built
Marketplace Lister — a Chrome extension + automation pipeline we built for exactly this workflow:
- The vehicle exists once, in the dealer's own system (or even just a spreadsheet).
- One click: the listing — photos, specs, price, description — is generated and posted to each marketplace in its own correct format.
- Price or status changes sync out to every platform from the same source.
- Interested buyers flow into one inbox instead of four.
No new software for the team to learn. They work where they already worked — the tool just removes the re-typing.
The result
- Listing time: ~20 minutes → under 2 minutes per car per platform
- Price updates: same-day everywhere, every time
- The recovered hours went to what actually sells cars: answering buyers fast
The lesson for any business
The pattern here isn't about cars. It's about repeated structured work: same information, multiple destinations, every day. Service businesses re-post to Google, Facebook and Instagram. Clinics re-enter the same patient details into three systems. Wholesalers re-send the same price lists.
If your team does something that feels like "I already typed this today" — that's an automation candidate, and it's usually cheaper to fix than the salary hours it eats.
