Where the hours go on a sales floor
Norm Murnieks, who founded U11, spent more than 15 years in Canadian automotive sales. The repetitive work looks much the same at most stores:
- Rebuilding listings by hand. The same vehicle, the same photos and the same details, re-entered on Facebook Marketplace and Craigslist one unit at a time.
- Chasing price changes. The website price moves, the Marketplace ad doesn't, and a buyer points out the difference.
- Stale ads. Sold units still listed, starting conversations about cars that are gone.
- Slow answers to new enquiries. Messages that arrive in the evening or during a delivery wait until someone is free.
- Follow-up that depends on memory. Customers who said "not yet" and never heard back.
None of that is selling. All of it is work software can prepare, track or remind you about.
Already built: Marketplace Lister
Marketplace Lister is a Chrome extension U11 built for exactly this. It takes vehicle photos, details and prices from your inventory website or feed, prepares Facebook Marketplace and Craigslist listings, and watches the inventory for new vehicles, price changes and sold units. You review everything before it's published.
- Core: $49 CAD/month: listings, AI descriptions, inventory monitoring and a listing-age dashboard.
- Pro: $74 CAD/month: everything in Core plus Video Pro, which turns an existing listing into vertical or horizontal video.
- Dealership teams: a shared inventory setup, priced on request.
- 30-day individual trial, no credit card, no setup fee, no contract.
Beyond listings: what else is worth automating
- First response to every enquiry. An instant, honest acknowledgement ("got it, a salesperson will call you within the hour") and routing to the right person, day or night.
- Follow-up for buyers who aren't ready. A short sequence so "maybe next month" gets a real next month, with consent and an easy opt-out, as Canada's anti-spam law (CASL) requires.
- Test-drive and appointment reminders. Fewer no-shows, and nobody has to remember to text.
- Content from inventory. Descriptions and short videos made from the listing you already have, not from scratch.
- Reporting that ties leads to sources. Which channel actually produced appointments and deliveries, not just clicks.
What should stay human
- Price and trade-in conversations. A bot that quotes numbers on a vehicle it can't see creates problems a sales manager has to clean up.
- Financing promises. Nothing automated should imply an approval.
- The relationship. Automation should get the salesperson to the customer faster, not replace the conversation.
Platform rules matter too. Marketplace Lister keeps a person in charge of every post and paces its actions like a human, because accounts that behave like bots can get restricted.
How it starts
With a free audit of your listings, lead response and follow-up. If a project makes sense, it's fixed-price, with the number agreed before any work starts. Only need the software? Start the Lister trial and skip the call.
